Cheryl's Quilted Zipper Bag with a Handle

Here is my brother's girlfriend's quilted zipper bag. I am told that she loves lighthouses. So I purchased lighthouses fabric on e-bay to make this bag. My brother said that the bag had to have handles. And it does. Enjoy your purse, Cheryl.

Quilted Class Pillow

Here is the quilted pillow that I made in my new sewing machine class. While constructing this pillow, I was able to practice my grid quilting skills, sew with the decorative stitches that came with my new sewing machine, and practice applying cording with a cording foot. This was a fun project.

Roses are just great any time of the year. I so love flowers. This half dozen are beautiful just like last month's bunch. Again, with such a wonderful smell.

Penny's UM Scarf

Here is my new University of Miami scarf that my little sister knitted for me. Some of us quilt and some of us knit today. She knows that I love all the Florida teams. I have mentioned to her that I am waiting for the matching sweater.

Mom's Blue Ribbon

Here is mom's Rosebud Quilt, with the pieced fencing borders, that I love so much. She entered this quilt in the 2009 Titusville Quilt Show. The show was a great success. I had the privilege of attending this wonderful event. All the quilts were just beautiful!

Here is a close-up of that Blue Ribbon. I am so very proud of you, Mom!

Valentine's Day Roses

I do love flowers. These are three of the seven dozen of roses that came to the house as gifts for loved ones. I had to take some photos. It was like a small florist in the dining room for a day.

Here is a close-up of one of the dozen of roses. Their buds arrived nice and tight and the daisies and greenery were just perfect. I wish you could smell these roses.

Here are new photos of the birds. You can't be taken photos of the roses without taking their picture as well. Their chatter totally distracts you from whatever you are trying to do.

Check out these dozen of varigated roses. They arrived from a different florist. They were very special roses.

Here is a close-up of the varigated roses. These roses were so unique. They were red with red streaks. They almost had a velvet look to them.

New Quilted Purse from E-bay

Here is my new quilted purse that I purchased off of e-bay. I love the pink and green floral print. This is such a cute purse! I can't wait to use it.

Mom's Quilted Zipper Bag

Here is the quilted zipper bag that I made for my mom. I asked her to send me a fat quarter of her choice and I selected a coordinating fat quarter out of my stash to use as the lining. I love her flowers and she is going to love the quilting. I can't wait to give this bag to her.

Quilted Purses from E-bay

Here are the five new quilted purses that I purchased off of e-bay a while back and never removed the tags and used. I needed some thank you gifts for some family members and these seemed just perfect. At first, everyone thought that I made them. Today, they know where they came from. I sure love e-bay!

Quilted Zipper Bag

Here is the quilted zipper bag that I made in my class for my new sewing machine. The quilting was done by lengthening the squiggly stitch and stitching diagonals with the seam guide attachment. We praticed with out new zipper foot and put a white zipper in the bag. After finishing our bags, we received ribbons for the zipper pull-tab with the store's name on it. My favorite quilt store is Quilter's Choice in Jupiter, FL. The bag will carry my blow dryer when I travel. I love it!

My Unfinished Floral Strip Quilt

Here is a quilt for myself that I have started putting together with two different jelly rolls that I purchased off of e-bay. This quilt is going to be so bright. I have some cream fabric that will be used for the inner border and then more of the floral strips will be used to make another border. I may add an outer cream border as well. A cream and maroon print will be used as the backing fabric and the binding.

New Photos of Birds

Here is a new photo of the birds that are near my sewing area. This is Blue Bird and Ling. Most of the time, they are constantly chattering with the birds outside. Right now, they are on their perches being quiet. What a difference a treat makes!

It's 2009!

It's a new year. I am blessed to begin 2009 with two wonderful grandsons, Trent and Tristen. Soon, birthdays will be celebrated.
